Food and Music

Friday night starts with a really special welcome party hosted by Jeff Middleton of SBSmigration.com, this is not your average first night at the hotel. Just off the lobby, Jeff has arranged for a Jazz Trio Reception and private mini-concert by 12 times Jazz Fest performer Tim Laughlin. Pete Fountain featured Tim in his set at the Fest this year, introducing him as “this guy’s the best jazz clarinet in the country”. Only Pete could possibly get away with saying that because Pete himself is the international living legend of jazz clarinet from New Orleans. Tim was back again at the Fest on second weekend with the stage to himself, and now you can catch him your first night in town!

During the weekend, conference attendee registration includes six meals. Enjoy fabulous local food for the two events mentioned here, plus hot breakfast and a signature New Orleans lunch on both Saturday and Sunday. Conference guests are welcome for all evening events. Plus, we’ll have a special “Community Coffeehouse” just outside the meeting rooms offering snacks during the day. You do want some gumbo or bisque, right?

Sunday night to close out the weekend conference, the SBS Product Team invites you for a three hours fete with live jazz/blues on the SBS Bash Riverboat Dinner Cruise onboard the Mississippi paddlewheeler Creole Queen. Performance by the Anthony “AB” Brown Band rolls us down the river with New Orleans music lead by the rhythm guitarist who recorded and toured with Elvis Costello and Allen Toussaint for the 2006 Grammy nominated album “River in Reverse”.
